The Application Process

At the core of our programme's success is our ability to recruit the very best trainee teachers. Successful applicants can feel proud of their achievement in what is a very robust and competitive process.

The core qualities we look for in potential trainees are:

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong subject knowledge and passion for their subject

· Ability to be reflective, responsive and pro-active

· A strong moral purpose

· Aptitude and readiness for ITT (ability to cope with the demands of the role).

These qualities are assessed and evaluated throughout the application process.

Below are the different stages of the application process.

Visit the various pages of this website and the associated CLF websites to ensure that we are the right provider for you and that we have spaces available on your chosen course.

Go to the UCAS website and complete your application form.  Hints and tips on writing your application click here. Once you have selected us as the provider and the application is complete it will be forwarded to our admissions team.

Step3.fw.png Our admissions team are committed to responding to applications as soon as possible. Successful applicants will be invited to an assessment day where their suitability for teacher training will be evaluated.
Step4.fw.png Assessment days are based in one of our CLF schools and consist of a formal interview, lesson planning activity and literacy and numeracy activities. Successful applicants will then receive a placement offer.
Step5.fw.png  The final stage of the process is for you to confirm that you have met any conditions that may have been attached to your offer and then formally accept the offer. At this stage you will officially become part of the 2018-19 SCITT cohort.
